The CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies (SLU) and the Far Rockaway Community Educational Leadership Team have partnered to bring college courses to adults in the Far Rockaway community. Courses will be taught by SLU faculty beginning in the spring of 2022 at Challenge Charter High School at 1520 Central Avenue in Far Rockaway. The strategic partnership between key Far Rockaway educational leaders and CUNY SLU creates a viable path for residents to obtain academic and professional skills or develop a new career plan no matter what level of education they have currently.
A special information session will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 9th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for interested residents to learn more about SLU’s educational programming, how to apply, register, and what special scholarships will be available.
