The Officers and Staff of SSEU Local 371 proudly extend our warmest wishes to you and your families for a joyful and meaningful Juneteenth.
As we commemorate this historic day — the moment in 1865 when the last enslaved people in the United States finally learned of their freedom — we honor the strength, resilience, and enduring spirit of Black Americans whose fight for justice has shaped our nation. Juneteenth is not only a celebration of liberation; it is a reminder of the ongoing work required to build a society rooted in equality, dignity, and opportunity for all.
Today, we celebrate the culture, contributions, and leadership of our Black members, colleagues, and communities. We also reaffirm our union’s commitment to standing against injustice wherever it appears and to uplifting the voices of those who continue to push our city and our country toward a more equitable future.
May this Juneteenth be a day of reflection, celebration, and togetherness. We hope you enjoy this time with your loved ones and take pride in the progress we continue to make — united, empowered, and moving forward together.
Happy Juneteenth from all of us at SSEU Local 371.
