Today, to mark the 55th anniversary of the beginning of the Memphis Sanitation Strike, AFSCME announced the launch of a podcast series recounting the stories of the courageous sanitation workers who made history. We will release several teaser trailers over the next couple months leading up to the release of the first episode in April which coincides with the anniversary of the death of Dr. King, who was assassinated while in Memphis to support the strikers. Follow along at iamstory.com and subscribe wherever you listen to podcasts including on Pandora, Spotify, Apple and Amazon.
This Black History Month, it is more important than ever to ensure that we are learning about Black history and the power that workers have when they come together to demand justice.
