It is with profound sorrow that I announce the passing of Larry Glickson. Larry was a former Associate Director and Vice-President of Negotiations and Research, Senior Advisor to the President and Special Assistant to the President. Larry was a long-time delegate from the BCW Queens Field Office.
Larry and I had a very special relationship. In 1983, when I was assigned to the Queens Field Office, Larry was my first supervisor. He immediately drafted me to become a union delegate. Larry taught me about the union and representation of members. He also taught me resolution: don’t just address the problem but find a resolution.
Larry is survived by his wife of more than 60 years, Rona, his son Grant and daughter Tracey, a DC37 Division Director, his grandchildren, extended family and his union family. Larry’s contributions to the union movement and particularly to SSEU Local 371 are immeasurable. I am eternally grateful for his impact and influence on my life.
